Refreshed

Revival was great! Each night the message was encouraging words that I needed to hear. Anita was wondering what a revival is. One definition states that it is a series of meetings held in the same place for several nights. And it is mainly in the south. That was news to me. I thought it was common in all denominations. My own definition is: A series of meetings held by a guest speaker to "stir up the gifts" within is and reignite the fire of the Holy Ghost in our lives. I feel that it is also a time God uses to minister to us "one on one" and cause us to reflect on our spiritual walk. You know, examine our own selves since we've already figured out what is wrong with everyone else. *grin*

I personally feel that the word should accomplish this in our *normal* services, but sad to say, it doesn't always happen. We have become a people that is "Gospel hardened" meaning we have heard it so much that it falls on ears that are not "hearing" anymore. In other words, some of us have become "immune" to God's word. The book of Revelation opens this up more when it speaks of the churches and the state it is in. Laodician keeps coming to mind here.

Sunday morning service was wonderful. There was a particular story in the bible that I have read many times before, but Sunday I saw it in a different way. I plan to post more on that later. You ladies will like it, I'm sure. I know I did. I will try to post it in the next couple of days. Until then, blessings to all!

There's "havin' a revival" and there's "Lord, send revival!" LOL

Glad to hear it went so well and you are feeling rejuvenated.

Thanks for your explanation here - it's pretty much what I thought it was but you just don't hear about them here. I know what you mean about "not hearing" the Gospel as loudly as we first did. As a redeemed people we should never become complacent...but we do anyways. Events like these do a good job of shaking us out of our complacency!

Debbie, Revivals are so important, but you're right about people becoming complacent about hearing the Gospel.

Looking forward to your post about what you learned.

Woohoo! Brians town had a tent revival this summer. It was so interesting! Mostly because it was mostly pentacostal/baptist folks and here we were, some white fokls walking into their services! lol! But we were warmly welcomed and it was a really great time and the spirit of God REALLY moved! Awesome to hear that you had a great time!!
