Will They Or Won't They

I am ready for a get away weekend. I know it hasn't been that long since I was away on my anniversary, but it sure seems like it. It was soooo nice. Those treasured memories are strongly trying to persuade me to convince hubby to pack the bags and hit the road. It's funny how things change as you get older. He's usually the one wanting to spend time away and I am the one who reasons that we don't have the money to splurge.

I think I failed to mention this purchase from our last trip to the Biltmore House. Yes, my hubby purchased this lovely book for me from their gift shop. I was thrilled with this gift. I couldn't wait to get alone with it and devour every page. There are so many beautiful pictures and lots of recipes. I was also pleasantly surprised to find one of the same patterns I have collected, used in one of the tea settings.

Although the weather is suppose to be nice this weekend, I am sure we will spend it at home. We have unfinished projects that need our attention. My porch rails need to be scraped and painted. I can hardly wait to get started on that. (she said with sarcasm) Seriously though, I have plenty to keep me busy and I really enjoy working outside on nice Spring days. It also gives us a chance to crank the old grill up. I have some steaks in the freezer and a new marinade I want to try. Hmmm...... I am looking forward to it already.

The more I get to know you, the more I realize that we are, without a doubt, sistahs! I am itching to get away for a weekend as well. (Hey, if you were stuck here in the 2 degree weather, you'd be going crazy too.) My husband is talking about going to Florida in December and he is talking about taking a new route. Down I-95. Hmmm. Seems to me I know somebody who lives close to the I-95...

OH! I just noticed! I have a teapot that is VERY similar to the one on the cover of the book. It was passed from my great-grandma (who brought it from England) to my grandma to my mom to me. I intend to give it to my daughter when she gets married. I should take a picture of it for you to see.

Oh thank-you HT. I have had that graphic for awhile, and finally decided to use it. I will probably change it from time to time. :)

Anita, VERY CLOSE to I-95, so close in fact,......well, I want say exactly....BUT you know that you CANNOT come via 95 and NOT stop by!!!! DECEMBER?!!!! I think you guys can make a pre-trip. :)

So, you have a chintz pot and haven't shared a this information before now? One straight from England, as well???? Yes, please post a pic of it. I would love to see it!

Thanks, Denise. Have you talked to Paula lately?

Is that what it's called? A Chintz pot? I don't really know that much about it, other than my great-Grandma Brown brought it over from England. I do cherish it though! It is so pretty, and the fact that it has been handed down throughout the generations is pretty special too. I'll get a picture of it up tonight.

... scraping and painting... sounds like the fun we have at our house! LOL! Lately it's been digging and planting, but it's the same thing to me! LOL!

We are to count it all joy, though, right?

Post one of your yummy recipes sometime from that beautiful book!

We painted our rails and deck last year and hope they stay looking good for a few more years. We have a TON of rails! I'll have to post a picture of them.

Hope you enjoy your weekend and the grilled steaks! :-)
