I spent waaay more time experimenting with my new look than I wanted to. I hope you like it. I think I will have to view it with fresh eyes before I can make a final decision. Mine are awfully tired tonight and I don't trust them to judge anything effectively. I have been wanting to make some changes for awhile, but couldn't seem to find the time.
We had another hot day in the good 'ole south. Summer is edging in quickly and looks like it will live up to it's usual reputation. My heart goes out to the elderly and children with breathing problems. The heat usually intensifies their breathing discomfort. I just don't remember the days of summer being so hot when I was a child. I realize the older you get the worse it is, but I think it's more than that. We now have advisories for heat and air quality that are given during the weather report. I don't remember having these either until the last couple of years. What I do remember is getting off the school bus on breezy May days and kicking off my sneakers to feel the warm, cushy grass between my toes. This, of course this was to my grandmother's horror. She was under the distinct impression that we were "flirtin' with pneumonia" by going barefoot before the official arrival of summer. She also made sure no t-shirts (yes, we wore t-shirts under our regular clothes) were removed before their time. She was a long sleeved girl all summer long, as I can remember. She wore a hat, too. One of those big, straw ones. Nothing fancy, mind you. She held true to the plain and simple.
Well, I have got to get into bed. I need at least a few winks before Nathan's feet hit the floor. He waits for NO one! Nitey Nite.

I love the new layout! That banner photo is gorgeous! The only thing I'm having trouble with are your words are getting ocassionally cut off in your right margin...which is something to day since I have a large flat screen monitor! *wink*
I love you my sweet friend.
I really like your new LO :) - I like the warm color and the header is fantastic. I am sure you put a lot of work into this. No problem loading in Firefox either :)
Heat - argh - I don't like it. We suppose to hit 115 by this weekend. Not looking forward to that. Barefoot is my favorite 'shoe'...
Be blessed today and always.
I love your new look. Love the colors just beautiful! I liked your old one too. We must be of the same style. Good job my dear sweet friend.
The heat is horrible isn't it? You are right I will pray for the elderly and those affected so much by this heat. Have a wonderful day and spot of tea for me my friend.
Hugs ,

Beth, I have fixed the right margin problem, but now, as you can see, my header is not centered. ARRGGGHHHH!!! Any suggestions? I have went back and forth on this.
Denise, love you too! *smile*
Iris and Angelmama, thanks for the compliments. I worked too long on it and still haven't gotten it right. *sigh*
117? wow! And I thought it was hot here!! whew! It's ONLY in the 90's here.....
WOW! What a purrdee picture! I love it! I know you did not get the picture from Blogger! Everything here is so plain. So come on spill it, where did you find such a nice picture?
Hot! Oh honey, the humidity here along with the heat is so bad. But our hottest month is Sept., so we haven't even began to heat up yet!
I too wonder what happened to you comment you made the other day, hmmm.
Stay cool!
pretty header!
When I was a girl, my mom insisted on undershirts - the kind with skinny straps though so they weren't too uncomfortable under my clothes in the heat.
I think your work has been worth the effort - these colours are so pretty and ladylike, very much what I would expect from a Southern lady such as yourself.
I guess it's hot all around, because we've been up in the 30's for a week now. We've been having the exact same weather as they're having in Cocoa Beach. Imagine that!
Thanks again....there is still work to be done, but not as much as before....yay!
Sharon, I got the header picture from Freerange.com I have the link in my photo credits. They have some great things over there. You have to sign up for an account, but it is free.
I love your new page!
OOH!! SO PRETTY!!! Love the new look!! So... what do you do with your kids when it's so hot outside? Keep them in? How do you pass the time??
Can you tell I need some advice??? HA HA!!
Only a week into summer and I'm floundering already!!!!
Lisa :-)
Debbie,
Just wanted to send you a hugs and sat down with a cup of tea to admire your beautiful work again. You did such a great job.
In his endless love,

Thanks, Sharon. It's still a work in progress......
Lisa, if it's really hot and humid, there's nothing I want to do, but STAY inside. lol Even the pool isn't a safe haven during this time. Since school is out, Chuckee Cheese is on our schedule. This of course is an early morning outing. I can't take the crowd any other time. (a.k.a. noisey, screaming kids) LOL....
When we are outside, it's usually early morning or late afternoon and evening. Nathan has a smaller wading pool that he can sit in and play with his toys. Caleb loves to travel next door to jump on the trampoline (we don't have one)
We also have one of those netted gazebos we put up this year. We have our patio set under there, too. It is really good for shade and although we haven't done so yet, board games can be played here. Caleb loves checkers, uno and battleship. HE just hasn't thought of that yet.
Angel, you are so kind. Thanks again and like I said before, I am still working on it. I would love to crop my header and center. I would love to have the scrolling background, but can't remember the code. I know just enough html to get me frustrated...lol!
Thank you so much for your info!! The UV is 11+ today, I just can't think that two redheads out in the sun all day is a good thing? Know what I mean? HAHA!
Have a blessed weekend my friend! Stay cool!!!
